SHAWNEE – A turnover-prone first half proved costly as Oklahoma Baptist fell to East Central, 70-52, in Great American Conference action on Tuesday night inside Mabee Arena at the Noble Complex.

The Lady Bison struggled to maintain possession of the ball over the first 20 minutes action, committing 17 turnovers, including 11 in the first quarter of play. As a result, OBU went into halftime down 33-17; East Central scored 16 points off turnovers in the half.

While OBU did tighten up their ball control coming out of the break, the deficit proved insurmountable as the Lady Bison fell to 1-2 in GAC competition.

Victoria Blankenship led the way for OBU with 16 points and completed her double-double with 11 rebounds.
Autumn Avina was second on the team with 12 points.

Oklahoma Baptist (4-4, 1-2 GAC) returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 15 when they travel to Weatherford for a showdown with Southwestern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m.
