SHAWNEE – It took overtime, but Oklahoma Baptist handed Southeastern Oklahoma State their first loss of the season as
Jason Eaker and the new-look Bison experienced Great American Conference action for the first time Thursday night. The Bison dropped the Savage Storm, 80-77, in front of a crowd of 791.

Brantly Thompson forced Southeastern's Kevin Buckingham into a long 3-point attempt in the final .4 seconds of overtime that fell short of the rim with the Bison holding a three-point lead. The win sees OBU start GAC competition 1-0 for the first time since joining the league for the 2015-16 season.

Julian Daughtry powered the OBU offense in the overtime period, converting both his shots for four points.
Harrison Stoddart and
Davion Turner also scored in the extra frame to push OBU over the top.

Lowery led the way with 18 points in a balanced Bison offense that also saw
Antonio Wade (13) and Daughtry (11) touch double figures. Lowery completed his double-double with 12 assists, while Wade had a game-high six assists.

Oklahoma Baptist (2-3, 1-0 GAC) head to Alva for a meeting with Northwestern Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. inside Percefull Fieldhouse on Saturday, Dec. 1.
