Lady Bison Steal the Show in Record Win

SHAWNEE – Records fell Friday night as the Lady Bison scored a 102-22 win over Manhattan Christian in the Noble Complex.

OBU's 102 points marked the program's fourth-highest total since making the transition to NCAA Division II.

Victoria Blankenship led the way for the Lady Bison, scoring a team-high 21 points and adding eight rebounds in just 19 minutes of action. Imari Bell netted 17 points to go along with eight boards, while Autumn Avina (17 points) and Shariah Anderson (10 points) all scored in double-figures for OBU.

All 12 players that logged minutes for the Lady Bison registered at least three points on the night.

Mikayla Shulanberger shattered the team's NCAA-era record for steals in a game with 10. The previous mark of six was set by Avina last season.

As a team, OBU's 35 steals set a new benchmark as a Division II program, outpacing their 26 swipes against Kansas Christian in 2017. The all-time Lady Bison record of 45 steals was set in 1996 against Manhattan Christian.

The Lady Bison return to action Monday night against Northeastern State on Bison Hill. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Bison Hill.
