HTML Box Score) Oklahoma Baptist dropped their first Great American Conference match of the season Thursday, falling 2-3 (27-25, 20-25, 25-13, 20-25, 12-15) to Southwestern Oklahoma State at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.

The Lady Bison (9-8, 4-1 GAC) owned a 23-19 lead late in the first set after leading by as many as five points. A 4-0 run from the Bulldogs (6-12, 3-2 GAC) leveled the score, but OBU never relinquished the lead. Kills by

Mikayla Watson secured the first set and gave the Lady Bison a 1-0 advantage.

SWOSU took the second set, ending an 11-set stretch of OBU victories against GAC opponents. The Lady Bison outscored the competition by 90 points over that stretch.

OBU took back the lead in the third set with a convincing 12-point victory. The Bulldogs forced a fifth set with their second five-point set victory of the night. SWOSU led the final set by as many as seven points before sealing the match with a three-point win.

Thursday's match marked the 10
th five-set match the Bulldogs have played this season, bringing their record to 4-6. OBU falls to 2-4 in matches that go the distance.

Blair (49 assists, 19 digs), Watson (12 kills, 20 digs) and
Cadyn Laing (16 kills, 17 digs) each registered a double-double in the loss.
Suzanny Figueiredo added 25 digs with
Nicole Fleitman and
Sophia Couto picking up five blocks apiece.

The Lady Bison will face a non-conference opponent in University of Arkansas Fort Smith on the road Tuesday before hosting Ouachita Baptist on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Noble Complex.
