HTML Stats) In the second match between the schools in seven days, Oklahoma Baptist defeated Emporia State 3-2 (25-23, 25-21, 26-28, 16-25, 15-7) Saturday at the GAC/MIAA Crossover to even up the season series.

The Lady Bison (6-7) and Hornets (7-5) played another five-set match Sept. 9, with Emporia State coming out on top. Saturday's win snapped a two match skid for OBU as the Lady Bison wrapped up the final regular season tournament.

Oklahoma Baptist jumped out to a 2-0 lead with wire-to-wire victories in each of the first two sets. The Lady Bison did not trail in the match until ESU took a 24-25 lead in the third. After the Hornets stayed alive with an extended set win in the third, they were able to force a decisive fifth set with a win in the fourth.

Trailing 3-4 in the final set,
Sophia Couto knotted the score with a kill and sparked a 7-1 run for the final lead change of the match. OBU cruised to an eight-point victory in the final set to improve their record to 2-3 in five-set matches.

Five players finished with double-digit kills and four Lady Bison recorded double-doubles in the victory.
Cadyn Laing led the way with 14 kills and added 18 digs for her first double-double of the season.
Hayden Blair registered a season-high 52 assists,
Suzanny Figueiredo earned 25 digs and Couto had eight block assists.
