SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist men's soccer heads to Oklahoma City for a neutral site match against a familiar foe from last season, Southwestern Christian, on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. The match will be played at Putnam City North High School.

Oklahoma Baptist (1-1-1) and Southwestern Christian (4-2-0) met three times in 2016, including twice in the National Christian College Athletic Association postseason. The Bison held a 0-2-1 record against the Eagles during their trio of meetings last season, but dropped SCU to claim the NCCAA Central Region crown via penalty kicks.

Thiago Dos Santos leads the charge, scoring in each match this season, and has a team-high seven points on three goals and one assist.

Southwestern Christian saw their four-match win streak snapped on this past Tuesday after falling, 3-1, to the NAIA's top-ranked squad, Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Eagles are averaging 5.5 goals per match on 21.2 shots, paced by Igor Stojanovic with eight goals this season. Matheus Magalhaes leads the team with six assists. On the defensive side, Caleb Swanepoel and Milos Milovic each have three starts this season, and have combined for a 1.33 GAA and 63.6 save percentage.
