SHAWNEE – Former Oklahoma Baptist track stars Hannah Fields and Michael Rodgers excelled in the 2017 TrackTown Summer Series (TTSS), comprised of professional track and field meets throughout the United States.

Fields, a 2015 OBU graduate, competes for the San Francisco Surge, one of four teams currently in the TTSS. She placed first in the 1500 meter run at the June 29 meet in Palo Alto, California. Her winning time of 4:05.30 was a personal record and established a new TTSS meet record in the event. Fields finished second in the 1500 meters at the TTSS championship meet on July 6 in New York City with a time of 4:05.76.

Rodgers won two events competing for the New York Empire. He placed first in the 100 meter dash in 10.16 on July 2 in Gresham, Oregon. Rodgers outpaced the field in the 100 meters at the TTSS championship meet in New York City, finishing in 10.15 on July 6. The 2011 Bison graduate will be inducted into the OBU Hall of Fame this fall.

The Summer Series is made up of 140 track and field athletes – representing coed teams from Portland, San Francisco, New York City, and Philadelphia – competing for prize money and additional benefits in excess of a half-million dollars.Â
