Softball Hosts Ecclesia in Tuesday Regional

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist opens the NCCAA Central Regional at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Ecclesia at Lady Bison Park.
 
The best-of-three series determines the automatic berth to the national tournament. The 'if necessary' game would be Wednesday afternoon.

Tickets are $6 and include admission to all games played that day. OBU students are free with their OBU ID.
 
The Lady Bison come into the regional with a 22-29 record. OBU is hitting .271 as a team, led by freshman Cheyenne Demaree at .333. Second-team All-Great American Conference selection Madison Vaughan is batting .294 with a team-leading 10 home runs. Vaughan shares the team RBI lead at 21 with Bry Flanagan.
 
The Lady Bison carry a 4.49 earned run average, paced by Haylee Zimmerman at 11-8 with a 3.99 ERA.
 
The Royals are 8-13 on the season and qualified by winning three of their last four games of the season.
 
Ecclesia is second in the NCCAA with a .364 team batting average and third with a .485 slugging percentage. They lead the NCCAA in doubles per game. Ashley Hagel leads the NCCAA with a .579 batting average and Lakota Rain hits .426. Jamie Marshall has four home runs and 21 RBIs.
 
EC has a team earned run average north of 5.56. Ashytn Rothrock has 79 strikeouts in 75.1 innings of work.
