Blaine Whitson and sophomore
Andrew Worley were named NCCAA Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Whitson is from Enid and won the 5000 meter run at the NCCAA Outdoor National Championships, finishing in 15:16.41. He was also runner-up in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:29.50.

Worley, a Blackwell native, set a new NCCAA championship record in the decathlon with 6655 points, winning three of the 10 events while finishing second in five other events. He placed first in the decathlon high jump (1.87 meters), 400 meter dash (52.12) and 110 meter hurdles (15.72).

The Bison won their second consecutive NCCAA Outdoor championship Saturday at Hurt Memorial Track.
