Andrew Worley leads the decathlon and
Lacey Herbert is first in the heptathlon after Thursday's events at the 2017 NCCAA Outdoor National Championships.

Worley leads all competitors through five events at the Hurt Memorial Track with 3652 points. Philip Fox of Bethel is second with 3530 points, and OBU's
Hayden Ashley is third after totaling 3486 points.
Kolten Speaks is eighth with 2676 points.

In the first event of the day, the 100 meter dash, Worley finished second in 11.09. The sophomore from Blackwell also finished second in the long jump (22-11) and shot put (38-9.75). He won the 400 meters (52.12) and tied for first with Ashley in the high jump (6-1.5).

Ashley won the shot put (39-0.25) and had a third place finish in the long jump (22-7). Speaks registered a fifth place finish in the long jump at 19-4.25.

Herbert paced the field with 2697 points after four events Thursday. Kristina Button of Roberts Wesleyan is second at 2540, followed by three Lady Bison.
Carleigh Neal is third (2369), followed by
Raigan Servati (2336) and
Maggie Smith (2321) in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

OBU swept the top three spots in the opening event, the 100 meter hurdles. Herbert won in 15.35, with Neal (16.06) taking second and Smith (17.08) finishing third. Herbert also placed first in the shot put (32-0) and finished second in the 200 meters (26.35).

Servati finished second in the high jump at 5-1.25 with Neal and Smith tying for third at 5-0.25. Smith finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 26.77.

The combined events wrap up Friday morning starting at 8:30 a.m. Both track and field events begin Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
