McKae Mitchell is the NCCAA Outdoor Track Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Â
Mitchell ran the fastest 100 meters in the NCCAA this year at the Butler County Grizzly Invitational, finishing in 11.98 to eclipse her own watermark in the event. She also won the 200 meters with a finals time of 24.38, which is the second-fastest time in the NCCAA behind her own finish earlier in the year.
Â
The Edmond native also ran the second leg of the 4x100 meter relay that posted a time of 48.06, third in the NCCAA this year. Mitchell was the leadoff in the 4x400 meter relay that won the event in 3:55.26, also with the third-fastest time of the season.
Â
This is the first win for Mitchell at the national level, and the second win for the Lady Bison track team this outdoor season.
