MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist rallied late to tie the game, but Southern Arkansas exploded for a six-run eighth inning for a 13-7 win Saturday to complete a series sweep.

OBU scored runs in the first and second innings on an RBI double by
Zane Gelphman and an RBI single by
Austin Whittaker.

Gelphman swatted a two-run home run to in the fifth the close the gap to 5-4.

The Muleriders went ahead 7-4 but the Bison scored two in the seventh on an RBI double by Joe Moran and a run-scoring error off the bat of
Bob English to make it 7-6 in the seventh.

Kevin Olmeda doubled in a run in the top of the eighth, but SAU scored six unearned runs in the home half of the inning for the win.

OBU had 11 hits in the game, including two apiece by Olmeda, Gelphman, Moran and Whittaker.

The Bison return to action Tuesday at 6 p.m., hosting Northeastern State.
