Bison Travel to Alva Friday

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist traverses to Alva this weekend for three games at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Bison play a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and a single game at noon Saturday.
 
If all three games are played in the series, the rivalry will have its 100th game this weekend. Through 97 games, OBU leads the series 72-24-1. The Bison swept the series last year and has a five-game win streak in the series, dating back to the 2012 season.
 
The Rangers come into the series at 8-22 overall and 3-15 in the Great American Conference. Northwestern bats .221 as a team with six home runs. Arturo Castro leads the team with a .359 batting average while Pat Delano has two home runs and 12 RBI to lead those categories.
 
As a pitching staff, Northwestern has relinquished 19 home runs and has a 6.38 earned run average. Bryce Tomlin has the most starts and owns a 2-4 record with a 5.44 earned run average. Collin Fouts leads the team out of the bullpen with a 1.93 ERA.
 
OBU comes into the series with a 17-12 overall record and stands 10-8 in the GAC. OBU hits .299 as a team with 16 home runs in 29 games. Brett Berghammer leads the team with a .368 batting average. Josh Timms has a team-high five home runs and Zane Gelphman has 34 RBIs.
 
The Bison have a team earned run average of 3.37. Jace Wilkins leads the team with a 1.93 earned run average.
 
Bison starter Jinny Parra is on the prowl for his 35th career win this weekend. It will be his second attempt at tying the school record shared by Darrin Fowler and David Hocking. Parra is 4-3 this season with a 2.72 earned run average.
