SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist renews the Shawnee Showdown in baseball Tuesday at St. Gregory's at 3 p.m.

Oklahoma Baptist leads the all-time series in the Shawnee Showdown, 56-2. OBU swept the series last year, winning 12-0 and 9-7. The Bison have won the last 16 games in the series, dating back to a 13-inning loss in 2012.

The Cavaliers are having one of their best baseball seasons. SGU is 20-10 overall and 9-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The team bats .304 as a team and has a staff earned run average of 6.71. Ryan Lujan-Leonard leads the team with a .370 batting average and five home runs while Armando Fajardo has a team-best 27 RBI. Justin Davis has been starting on the hill in non-conference games. He is 2-0 with a 1.32 earned run average. The Cavaliers have not yet established a closer, though Clay Doyle has two saves in eight relief appearances.
