SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist hosts the No. 2 team in NCAA Division II softball this weekend when Southern Arkansas visits for a pair of doubleheaders.
Games start at 3 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive an OBU wristband.
Southern Arkansas 14-2 overall and 4-0 in the Great American Conference. Jill Roye is hitting .500 through 60 at bats and Maddie Dow has cracked eight home runs in 44 at bats. Dow also has walked 14 times and been hit by pitch 10 times. Victoria Taylor is 8-0 with a 2.00 earned run average to lead the Mulerider pitching staff. SAU bats .328 as a team with 27 home runs in 16 games and has a 2.68 earned run average.
The Lady Bison are 6-4 overall and 1-3 in the GAC. The team hits .285 with a 4.63 earned run average.
Cheyenne Demaree leads the everyday position players with a .438 batting average with
Madison Vaughan checking in at .375 with five home runs.
Haylee Zimmerman has emerged as the ace of the staff with a 4-1 record and a 2.33 earned run average.
