SHAWNEE – The Bison baseball team begins a three-game Great American Conference home series with Henderson State Friday and Saturday.
The teams square off in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Friday with a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Bison sit atop the GAC standings at 3-0 with a 7-2 overall record.
OBU bats .343 as a team with a 2.64 team earned run average, leading the GAC in both categories. The Bison also lead in slugging, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles and walks.
Josh Timms leads the squad with a .421 batting average while
Zane Gelphman hits .351 with a team-leading 12 RBI. Timms has a GAC-leading 16 hits.
Jinny Parra is 3-0 with a 2.12 earned run average with
Zach Fowler checking in at 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA. Fowler leads the GAC in earned run average.
