GREENVILLE, S.C. – Oklahoma Baptist swept the NCCAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week awards, with
Devontrae Young earning the track honor and
Hayden Ashley taking the field award.

The Bison repeated as champions at the NCCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship over the weekend.

Young, a sophomore from Lawton, Oklahoma, took first in the 200 meters at the national championship with the second-fastest time in the NCCAA this season at 22.03, setting a Kerr-Pegula Field House facility record in the process. Young led off the 4x200 meter relay team that finished third in 1:29.84, and was the third leg in the 4x400 meter relay that took fifth. He also finished 11th in the 60 meters at 7.12.

Ashley took first in the heptathlon at the NCCAA National Championship. His winning point total of 4935 was the second-best mark in the NCCAA this year, and it established a new facility record at Kerr-Pegula Field House. The freshman from Tulsa, Oklahoma took first in three of the seven events, winning the 1000 meters, high jump, and shot put. Ashley also finished second in the pole vault with second-highest mark in the NCCAA this season (4.42 meters), and was seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.83 meters.
