SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Hastings at Lady Bison Park.

Oklahoma Baptist dislodged the hits light on the scoreboard in batting practice Friday and then hit four home runs and five doubles in sweeping Southwestern College 14-1 and 9-1.

The Lady Bison hit .489 in yesterday's doubleheader and slugged .867. Six OBU hitters are slugging 1.000 or better after two games, including
Bailee Saye at 2.500 and
Morgan Hughes and
Katie Reyes both at 1.500.

OBU snatched nine stolen bases in 10 attempts Friday with
Katie Reyes swiping four bases and
Bry Flanagan taking two.

The Lady Bison were error-free in 50 chances Friday and made a pair of diving outfield catches to go with that.

OBU pitchers didn't register a strikeout Friday, but held the Moundbuilders to a .147 batting average with no walks.
McKenzie Jones,
Bailee Saye and
Haylee Zimmerman combined for a 1.80 earned run average for the day.

Katie Reyes came out swinging in the opener, posting the first four-hit game of the season with a home run, two doubles and a bunt single. She drove in four runs and scored three times as the team's leadoff batter.

Everyone who started in the batting order yesterday ended the day with at least one hit with seven Lady Bison starting the season with two or more hits on Opening Day.

Hastings is 1-1 after a split with Ottawa. The Broncos posted 15 runs in the doubleheader with three home runs and a .345 batting average. All-American Corrin Ziepke had 18 home runs and 62 RBI last season. She had one home run on opening day this season.
