DALLAS – Oklahoma Baptist whipped Dallas Christian Wednesday night, 28-6, getting 23 hits and 14 walks.

Josh Timms and Joe Moran combined for seven hits and 10 RBI, each driving in five runs. Timms had two home runs and Moran added one.

OBU scored seven times in the first inning on a three-run home run by Timms, an RBI single by
Hunter Heath, a bases-loaded hit by pitch for
Brett Berghammer and a two-run error.

The Bison went up 9-0 in the second on back-to-back home runs by Timms and Moran.

OBU added three in the fourth on an RBI double by
Kyle Abblitt, a sacrifice fly by Berghammer and run-scoring wild pitch.

The Bison scored five times in the fifth on a two-run triple by Abblitt, an RBI double by
Landon Harper and RBI singles by
Zane Gelphman and
Kevin Olmeda.

OBU stacked up seven runs in the sixth, including an RBI double by Olmeda, a sacrifice fly by Harper, a two-run single by Moran and an RBI walk by Timms.

OBU added four in the seventh on a two-run double by Moran, an RBI single by
Nick Burnham and another run-scoring error.

Blake Whitehead went five innings to get the win with
AJ Merkel and
Brad Adams pitching one scoreless inning each.

Moran led the hit parade with four hits, while Timms and Olmeda had three each.
Dustyn Cook, Gelphman, Heath and Abblitt had two hits each.

Now 4-2, the Bison head to Arkadelphia for a three-game weekend, starting with a 2 p.m. contest Friday.
