SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer wraps up their nonconference slate with a 5:30 p.m. match against West Texas A&M on Monday, Oct. 9 at the OBU Soccer Complex. The Lady Bison are currently 4-1 when going up against opponents outside the Great American Conference.
 
The Lady Bison (9-1-1, 5-0-1 GAC) are unbeaten in their last seven outings. West Texas A&M (5-2-4, 3-0-3 LSC) is on a similar run, going unbeaten in their last six, though three of those six have been draws.
 
Ruth King leads an offense averaging 2.27 goals and 22.2 shots per match with seven goals and seven assists, and has scored in three of her last four appearances. Hannah White is second on the squad with five goals, while nine other Lady Bison have found the back of the net in 2017. They'll face a Lady Buffs defense that's given up just 1.18 goals and 10.6 shots per match.
 
Opponents have found it difficult to generate offensive flow against OBU, scoring just 12 goals against a defense anchored by centerback pairing Rachel Beiermann and Jennifer Goethe. Lara Haring-Lovett and Kelsey Bumgarner have been instrumental as well, shutting down the wings while also combining for two goals and an assist. Emily Griffith boasts a 1.05 goals-against average and .721 save percentage with 31 saves to her credit.
