SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist puts the finishing touches on the 2017 regular season when they head to Tahlequah for a return match with Northeastern State at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26. A win assures the Bison of a second-straight winning season for OBU head coach Anthony Yousey.

The Bison (7-7-1, 3-3 GAC) are currently riding a three-match winning streak after Tuesday night's win over Southern Nazarene. Northeastern State (10-4, 5-1 MIAA) are enjoying a seven-match win streak and haven't lost in over a month. The RiverHawks beat OBU in the first meeting between the two sides this year in Shawnee.

Thiago Dos Santos and Luis Romero lead OBU with six goals each, and as a team the Bison are scoring 2.07 goals per match. Dos Santos has also been the team's top facilitator on offense, swinging in crosses from the flank for five assists this year.

The OBU offense will go up against an NSU defense that is holding opponents to less than a goal per match and shut out four opponents during their seven-match tear. Ryan Davis has seen the most action in goal posting a .94 goals-against average and has saved nearly 80 percent of the shots fired at his goal.

Oklahoma Baptist's defense has shut out its last two opponents, and has held opponents to 1.67 goals per match. Thomas Ackerknecht was back in goal on Tuesday night against SNU in celebration of Senior Night, but has split time almost evenly with Parker Lawter. The two goalkeepers have combined for 52 saves and a 1.61 GAA.

Northeastern State has scored 34 goals through 14 outings this year, converting an incredibly efficient 16.3 percent of their shots into goals. Joe Garcia is the main threat for NSU going forward, leading the team with 10 goals while ranking second on the team with three assists.
