SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist pays its last visit to Arkansas this football season when the Bison travel to Arkadelphia for a meeting with Ouachita Baptist.

Ouachita Baptist enters the fray at 5-2 but like its in-town rival Henderson State, the Tigers have a losing record in Arkadelphia at 1-2. Ouachita and HSU are a combined 8-0 on the road but just 1-5 at home.

Preston Haire is set to start at quarterback for the Bison and has already established or tied school single-game records with 32 completed passes and four touchdowns.

OBU has completed passes to 15 different receivers this season with
Alex Lewis leading the team with 31 receptions. Lewis and Stephen Turner are both in the GAC top 10 in receptions with Turner getting 4.3 per game to Lewis' 4.4. Lewis also is sixth at 58.9 yards per game and
Cagney Roberson took up residence in the GAC top 10 with 52.9 receiving yards per game. Turner and Roberson lead the team with four scoring receptions apiece.

Isaiah Mallory used a 48-yard scoring run and an 84-yard rushing game against Arkansas-Monticello to keep his average yards per game at 85.8 and second in the Great American Conference, despite getting just 11 carries Saturday. He is one of four GAC backs to have 500 yards this season with fewer than 100 carries.

The Bison offensive line is 13th in the nation with only five sacks allowed through seven games.

Elijah Jones leads the Tigers with 60 tackles in seven games, including a team-best 5.5 tackles for loss. John Rachal leads the team with 3.5 sacks. Six different Tigers have recorded interceptions this season.

Quarterback Austin Warford keys the offense with 194 yards passing and 65.71 yards rushing per game. Warford has only tossed one interception among his 157 passes this season and leads the GAC with a 154.0 passing efficiency. He also has rushed for 501 yards and averages 5.8 yards per carry.

Running back Kris Oliver has 370 yards and a strong 5.1 yards per carry average.

Warford's most frequent target has been receiver Allie Freeman with 40 receptions, four touchdowns and 505 yards for a 72.14 average. Freeman is second in the GAC in receiving. Drew Harris has three touchdown receptions and has scored 12 touchdowns on the ground on just 44 carries.

Josh Arnold has led the Bison this season with 56 tackles in seven games, averaging eight per game. That ranks him seventh in the Great American Conference. Josh Redmond has 47 tackles this season and is tied for second on the team.

Dante Foster with 47 tackles is 14th in the Great American Conference overall and fifth among defensive backs. He is tied for the team lead with five tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He has three passes defended and one sack. The only other player on the team with a sack and a pass defended is
Myles Russell.
