Lady Bison Fall in OT

MONTICELLO, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist suffered through a pair of scoring droughts but forced overtime before falling at Arkansas-Monticello Saturday 89-86.

Katy Custer and Tasha Edge had double-doubles with Custer getting a career-best and OBU season high 29 points to go with 10 rebounds. Edge added 17 points and led the Lady Bison with 12 rebounds and shared team-high assists honors with Lexi Williams with six.

Custer was 12 of 16 from the field. Her 29 points is the most for a Lady Bison in their NCAA transition.

OBU was down three points with 4.9 seconds left in regulation, but Edge drained three free throws after being fouled on a three-point field goal attempt and tied the game to force overtime.

The Blossoms scored 17 points in the extra frame and held off OBU for a three-point win.

OBU, which had a four-minute scoring drought in the second half, dipped to 4-8 overall and 1-5 in the Great American Conference.

OBU returns to action Thursday with a home contest against Southeastern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m.
