PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's indoor track and field teams posted 38 qualifying marks at the Pittsburg State Invitational.

The Lady Bison met 22 qualifying standards, with the Bison reaching 16 marks.
Â
Four Lady Bison met the NCCAA qualifying standard in the 60 meters.
McKae Mitchell (7.83),
Candis Rodgers (8.11),
Ruth King (8.12), and
Shariah Anderson (8.16) qualified.

Mitchell also qualified for the 200 meters in 24.98.
Â
There were four qualifiers for OBU in the 400 meters.
Kya Barnes (56.75),
Kysha Miller (59.63), Abby Mayfield (1:00.60), and
Breanna Hurlbut (1:00.66) each met the qualifying mark.

Oklahoma Baptist dominated the 800 meters, taking four of the top 12 times, with each meeting the qualifying standard.
Destinee Allen (2:16.70),
Shimoya Currie (2:16.82),
Sarah Gilstad (2:19.31), and
Tesa Potter (2:19.60) qualified for the Lady Bison.

Daisy VanMeter qualified for the mile in 5:22.60.

Zoya Timoshenko met the standard in the 3000 meters with a qualifying time of 10:51.34.

Five Lady Bison qualified in the 5000 meters, paced by a third place finish from
Sydney Lawrence in 17:33.79.
Kaylee Large (17:38.49),
Emily Sechrist (18:08.64),
Megan Allen (19:00.74), and
Lauren Franz (19:15.28) each met the qualifying standard.

Leah Molter took fourth and qualified in the 60 meter hurdles with a finals time of 8.73.

There is no NCCAA qualifying time for relays, but a team of Mitchell, Allen, King, and Barnes took fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:53.36.

Kimberly Mead met the qualifying mark in the long jump with a distance of 5.18 meters.

For the Bison,
Devontrae Young posted a qualifying time of 7.16 in the 60 meters, and qualified in the 200 meters in 22.26.

Brett Shovanec also qualified in the 200 with a time of 23.04.

Matthew Giudice met the qualifying standard in the 400 meters in 49.98.

Four Bison ran a qualifying time in the 800 meters.
Carlos James (1:56.67),
Sam Smith (1:58.79), Tommy Uglean (1:56.75), and
Nathan Crowson (1:59.48) all met the standard.

Three runners qualified in the mile, led by Crowson in third place with a time of 4:20.68.
Garrett Elmore (4:26.43) and
DeAngelo Robles (4:28.95) also qualified.

Jacob Janzen won the 3000 meters in a qualifying time of 8:45.92.

Blaine Whitson met the qualifying standard in the 5000 meters, finishing in 15:29.49.

Cayden Spain (8.78) and
Dakota Kappelle (8.82) both qualified in the 60 meter hurdles.

A team of Giudice,
Noah McGraw, Clayton Huneycutt, and James finished the 4x400 meter relay in 3:19.36, although there is no qualifying standard for the NCCAA.

Spencer Lashley took second in the pole vault with a qualifying height of 4.66 meters.

The Bison and Lady Bison will compete in the Univeristy of Central Missouri Mule Relays on Feb. 3, in their last meet before the NCCAA Indoor National Championships, starting on Feb. 17.
