SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist Men's Soccer returns to the OBU Soccer Complex on Thursday, Sept. 22 for their Great American Conference opener against Harding at 8 p.m. The match will be the first of four straight home matches for OBU as they look to return to winning ways.
The Bison (2-4-1, 0-0 GAC) lead the GAC in goals scored this season at 14, with
Vicente Castillo producing a .71 goals per match. His five total goals has him tied for 15th in Division II, while
Thiago Dos Santos,
Matthew Giudice and
Jonathan Martinez each have two goals. The Bison are averaging 11.86 shots per match, and are converting at a .169 clip.
On the defensive side of the pitch, the Bison have now used three different goalkeepers.
Jared Hill his first start of the season on Monday night, and posted nine saves in a 2-0 loss to Northeastern State. The netminding trio has combined for a 2.63 goals-against average and .661 save percentage. Oklahoma Baptist is still searching for their first shutout of the season.
