SHAWNEE – Coming off their first win over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma under head coach
Anthony Yousey, the Oklahoma Baptist men's soccer team will look to pull off the same feat as they welcome Southwestern Christian to the OBU Soccer Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 13 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Oklahoma Baptist has boasted a potent offense this season, scoring at least three goals in three of their first four matches and hold a 2-2 record overall.
Vicente Castillo paces the team with his Great American Conference-leading four goals, while
Jonathan Martinez and
Thiago Dos Santos have netted twice each. Supply lines have come from all over the field, with six different Bison recording an assist, including
Jesus Andrade,V. Castillo,
Alejandro Castillo,

The defense was bolstered by the insertion of freshman goalkeeper
Bronson Wise between the sticks, as he posted seven saves against one goal allowed in his first career start. Oklahoma Baptist has bent, but not broken on defense as they own a minus-3.7 margin in shots per match. However, opposing offenses only hold a .180 shot conversion rate.
Southwestern Christian enters Tuesday's tilt sporting a 5-1 record, and most recently knocked of Missouri Valley College, the NAIA's No.3-ranked squad, 2-1 in Bethany. Jamie Campbell leads all Eagles with 13 points on five goals and three assists, both team-leading numbers. The Eagles' defense has been stingy, allowing just 9.17 shots per match. Caleb Swanepoel has started all but one match for SCU, and holds a 1.20 goals-against average and .684 save percentage.
Following Tuesday's match, the Bison head to Bolivar, Missouri, to face Southwest Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
