DURANT – Oklahoma Baptist finished off its series at Southeastern Oklahoma State with a doubleheader split Saturday, losing the first game, 6-1, before taking the finale 5-1.
The Bison broke up the shutout in the eighth inning of the loss, getting a solo home run by Brandon Cuddy.
Jinny Parra (8-2) took the loss.
The Bison had nine hits, including two by Ryan Joyce.
Nathan Thompson (4-3) twirled a three-hitter in the finale, striking out 13 in his complete game win.
Down 1-0, OBU scored three times in the third inning on a solo home run by Joseph Moran, a throwing error and an RBI double by Cuddy.
OBU made it 4-1 in the fourth on an RBI single by Cuddy and Felipe Gonzalez homered to right in the seventh for the final margin.
The Bison had eight hits, including three by Cuddy.
Now 24-12 overall and 15-10 in the Great American Conference, the Bison host Mid-America Christian at 6 p.m., Monday.
