SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist saw its six-run cushion dwindle to two, but the Bison held on for a Pink Out win over St. Gregory's 9-7 Wednesday.
OBU swatted three home runs, including a grand slam by Trevor Ezell, and picked up their 30th win of the season.
It is the 13th consecutive 30-win season for the Bison baseball program – all under Coach Bobby Cox who has been at the helm for 28 of OBU's 29 30-win seasons.
SGU held leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but couldn't overcome OBU's seven-run third inning.
Hunter Heath hit his eighth homer of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first.
The Cavalier had a 2-1 lead before OBU scored seven times in the third on a solo home run by Kevin Olmeda, a sacrifice fly by Heath, a bases-loaded hit by pitch for Joseph Moran ahead of the grand slam by Ezell.
The Cavaliers made it an 8-3 game in the fourth, but the Bison answered with an RBI double by Felipe Gonzalez.
SGU scored four in the seventh, including a two-run double just inside the right field line by Logan Hart.
Chad Bennett (3-1) worked five innings for the win.
OBU had nine hits in the game, including two each by Brandon Cuddy and Olmeda.
The Bison return to Great American Conference action this weekend, scheduled to take on Southern Nazarene Friday.
