SHAWNEE – In what must have seemed like a bad joke, Oklahoma Baptist committed five errors and allowed the winning run on a wild pitch during an intentional walk attempt in a 2-1 loss to East Central Friday.
Carson McPherson took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, where he allowed his only hit of the game, surrounded by three errors.
The Bison had a 1-0 lead since the second inning when Joseph Moran lofted a sacrifice fly to score Hunter Heath.
McPherson struck out eight through his first seven innings, but with one out and runners at second and third, Kodiak O'Ravez produced an RBI fielder's choice to tie the game.
Kris Molter doubled to right off Mike Gould (5-1) and scored from third on a wild pitch.
Brandon Dussenberry got the win, going nine innings and limiting the Bison to four hits.
The teams finish off the series with a noon doubleheader Saturday.
