Bison Drop One at UAM

MONTICELLO, Arkansas – Oklahoma Baptist lost the opening game of its three-game set at Arkansas-Monticello, 5-1, Friday.

Brandon Ray had a two-run home run and an RBI single to help stake the Boll Weevils to a 5-0 lead before the Bison got on the board.

OBU broke up the shutout in the eighth on an RBI ground out by Brandon Cuddy.

The Bison managed six hits, getting two each by Trevor Ezell and Joseph Moran.

Jinny Parra (3-1) took his first loss of the season, logging six strikeouts while allowing four earned runs through 4.2 innings.

Now 9-3 overall and 2-2 in the Great American Conference, the Bison finish the series with a noon doubleheader Saturday.
