Arielle Cooper celebrated her Senior Day Saturday by hitting the game-tying basket with 10 seconds and Oklahoma Baptist went on to an 85-81 overtime win over Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday.
Lexi Williams played lights out, getting 24 points and 12 rebounds – including 10 caroms on the offensive end, to lead a quintet of double figure scorers and a trio of double-double performers.
"Lexi is a spark plug and we need that energy," said Lady Bison Coach Casi Bays.
Tasha Edge had 14 points and 13 rebounds and Kiara Moore added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Cooper finished with 18 points and Katy Custer added 10.
OBU trailed 69-67 with 1:55 to play and missed four shots in a row, but Williams collected three rebounds on the offensive glass.
Southwestern still had a two point lead but turned the ball over with 19 seconds left and Cooper got the tying jumper with 10 seconds and OBU forced a turnover to thwart Southwestern's last shot hopes.
Edge scored and Moore added a three-pointer to give OBU a 78-74 lead with 1:53 left in the overtime and from there the Lady Bison went 7 of 8 from the free throw line to claim the win.
The win was the last game in the Noble Complex for Cooper and Raquel Dudzevich.
Now 13-13 overall and 11-9 in the Great American Conference, the Lady Bison finish the regular season on the road with the next stop coming in Magnolia, Arkansas, against Southern Arkansas Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
