Muleriders Hold Off Bison

Southern Arkansas answered two late rallies by Oklahoma Baptist and salvaged a split of the series with a 10-5 win Saturday at Bison Field.

OBU trailed 4-0 before Felipe Gonzalez ripped a three-run home run in the sixth to make it a 4-3 game.

SAU got two runs back in the seventh on a two-run home run by Austin Bishoff.

The Bison scored twice in the seventh on a double play and an RBI single by Kyle Abblitt.

The OBU bullpen surrendered four more runs in the next two innings and the Bison took their second loss of the season.

OBU had 12 hits, including three by Gonzalez and two each by Kevin Olmeda, Brandon Cuddy and Abblitt.

Now 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the Great American Conference, the Bison host former Sooner Athletic Conference foe USAO at 3 p.m., Tuesday.
