SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist continues their longest stretch away from home with a trip to Weatherford to face Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon.
Â
The Lady Bison enter Saturday riding a three-match winning streak after taking down Northwestern Oklahoma State 3-1 on Thursday.
Abigail Hicks and
Ruth King each scored a goal to remain tied for the team lead at four each.
Kenzi Bice found the net for her third time this season, and
Emma Beck played 83-shutout minutes in goal.
Â
SWOSU currently sits in tie for second place in the Great American Conference, and brings one of the best offenses the Lady Bison will face all season. The overwhelming majority of the goals scored for the Bulldogs have come from two forwards. Alimata Rabo has netted 15 goals while Sandra Nabweteme has found the net 14 times this year, ranking them one and two in the conference.
Â
Oklahoma Baptist will once again call on
Jennifer Goethe to anchor the defense against the highest-scoring offense in the GAC. The Lady Bison rank fourth in the conference in goals allowed per contest, giving up just 1.33 per match.
Â
This will mark the second game of a season-high five game road trip for the Lady Bison, who look to move to 2-0 on the trip.
