GREENWOOD, Ind. – Vicente Castillo and Andrew Thomsen were selected to the District 7 Academic All-District men's soccer first team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.
 
Castillo is a senior forward from Peralta, Spain, majoring in Physical Education. He has a 3.61 GPA and leads the Great American Conference with 10 goals and five assists. This is the second straight selection for Castillo to the Academic All-District team.
 
Thomsen, a graduate student from Midwest City, Oklahoma, is a Secondary Education major with an emphasis in Social Studies. He owns a 3.76 GPA and has appeared in 14 games this season as a defender. Thomsen was previously named a Great American Conference Crafton Tull Distinguished Scholar Student-Athlete.
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
