SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist begins the second leg of the Great American Conference season with a road match against Ouachita in Arkadelphia, Arkansas Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Bison enter the match riding a five-match winning streak, the longest since six straight matches in the 2010 season. OBU has not allowed a goal in four straight matches, the longest streak in program history.
 
Vicente Castillo remains at the top of the GAC in total points with 20. He leads the conference with eight goals scored and four assists. The Bison will meet the second-highest point scorer in the GAC in Tinashe Chigede. Chigede has posted 10 points this season, and leads Ouachita with four goals scored.
 
Thomas Ackernecht has registered three straight shutouts and lowered his goals allowed average to 0.80 in the process. Ackernecht leads the conference with a .879 save percentage.
 
Much of Oklahoma Baptist's success on defense can be attributed to the solid back line, anchored by David Estrada. Estrada is the reigning GAC Defender of the Week and has taken the award twice this season. Matthew Giudice has also stepped up for the Bison on defense, and has earned top defender honors already this year.
 
Ouachita is currently in a three-way tie with Southern Nazarene and Harding for second place in the conference. The Bison took down the Tigers 3-0 in the first meeting between the schools this season.
