Muleriders Shoot Down Bison

Southern Arkansas' taller squad used a 40-29 rebounding advantage and 50-percent shooting night inside the arch to take down Oklahoma Baptist, 78-67 Thursday in the Noble Complex.

The Bison trailed by 19 at the half but used a 55-percent field goal shooting performance in the second half to get as close as 11 midway through the half.

"We had some spurts where we looked good and we moved the ball well, but the half time deficit was too much," said OBU Coach Quinn Wooldridge.

Chandler Rickey led the Bison with 14 points, followed by Steven Green with 13 and Tyler Lester with 12. Rickey also led the team with six rebounds.

Vladimir Nemcok had 10 assists and five steals to go with his eight points.

Jaron Davis led SAU with 14 points.

Now 5-4 on the season and 1-4 in the Great American Conference, the Bison host Arkansas-Monticello in a 3 p.m. contest Saturday in the Noble Complex.
