Oklahoma Baptist used an old tonic to cure its first-semester slide Monday, knocking off St. Gregory's 76-47.
OBU out-muscled St. Gregory's 52-27 in the rebound column, to go with seven blocked shots. The Lady Bison are now 34-5 all-time against the Cavaliers.
Kiara Moore led OBU with 10 rebounds, followed by Racquel Dudzevich with eighth and Tasha Edge with seven.
"All rebounding is is a want-to, so I'm proud of how we rebounded," Edge said.
The Lady Bison had some struggles in the first and third quarters, but dominated in the even-numbered quarters and never trailed.
McKenzie Cooper and Edge staked OBU to a quick 6-0 lead on back-to-back three-pointers. OBU led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter, but put together a 22-9 second quarter to stake itself to a 33-18 halftime lead.
Cooper ended the night with 16 points, followed by Edge with 13 and Katy Custer with 11.
"Everyone stepped up and did what we need to do for us to win," said OBU Coach Casi Bays.
The Lady Cavaliers got OBU's lead down to nine points early in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Bison finished the game on a 25-7 run.
Denisha Lundy led SGU with 12 points.
Now 3-7 on the season, the Lady Bison host Southern Arkansas Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
