Oklahoma Baptist put together three strong offensive quarters and held on for n 89-81 win over Southern Arkansas in Great American Conference action Thursday in the Noble Complex.

"Our intensity was great," said Lady Bison Coach Casi Bays. "We came out strong in the first three quarters and gave up a little in the fourth."

By the time that fourth quarter rolled around, OBU had built a 73-54 lead.

Both teams shot well in the first quarter with OBU establishing a slim 27-24 lead. The Lady Bison kept the offense rolling in the second quarter while the Lady Muleriders struggled without the services of two-time GAC Player of the Week Rosa Bryant, who picked up her second foul.

The Lady Bison led 51-41 at the half.

OBU, which has outscored its opposition in the third quarter just once this season, expanded the lead with a 22-13 effort in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

McKenzie Cooper led OBU with 18 points, while Kiara Moore and Tasha Edge added 15 apiece.

OBU out-rebounded SAU 41-34, paced by Raquel Dudzevich's 10 caroms.

"We tried to do our best on the rebounds," said Dudzevich. "That was a big part of the scouting report."

Bryant led SAU with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Cameerah Graves had six assists and five steals.

The Lady Bison return to action Saturday in a 1 p.m. tip against Arkansas-Monticello in the Noble Complex.
