Bison Rally Falls Short at Ouachita

ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas - Oklahoma Baptist rallied late but fell at Ouachita Baptist Thursday, 78-66

The Bison led for much of the first half, but Ouachita used a 19-3 run to take a 37-25 lead. The Tigers led 39-30 at intermission.


Ouachita led by as many as 19 points in the second half, but the Bison were able to get the deficit down to 10 with 2:08 to play on a Steven Green three-pointer. Sigourney Jackson found Chandler Rickey down low for a dunk to make it a 72-64 game with 1:18 to play.

Vladimir Nemcok added a pair of free throws to make it a 72-66 contest with 37.4 seconds left.

Lakee Westbrok added two free throws and Ouachita added two more after a Bison turnover to get a 76-66 lead with 25.9 to go.

Green led the Bison with 16 points – 14 coming in the second half. Nemcok had 14 and Chandler Rickey and Timotis Kuckailis added 10 apiece. Green led Oklahoma Baptist with seven rebounds.

Tirrell Brown led Ouachita with 19 points.

Oklahoma Baptist dipped to 0-6 in Thursday night contests this season.

The Bison, 5-11 overall and 1-6 in the Great American Conference, stay in Arkadelphia for a 3 p.m. contest at Henderson State Saturday.
