HSU Rallies Past Bison

ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas – Henderson State fired off at a 57 percent clip in the second half and overtook Oklahoma Baptist Saturday in the Duke Wells Center.

Chandler Rickey led the Bison with 17 points, followed by Steven Green, Vladimir Nemcok and Sigourney Jackson with 10 apiece.

The Bison led 32-30 at halftime but Henderson State shot 58 percent and gained a 54-48 lead 10 minutes into the second half. The Reddies went on a 22-7 run after Nemcok left the game win an injury. The Reddies were up 56-58 when he returned.

The HSU lead swelled to 14 with 5:58 left as OBU went on a 2-of-11 shooting drought and turned the ball over seven times in four minutes.

OBU got a five-point play with a three-pointer by Nemcok and a pair of free throws by Timoti Kuckailis with 5:36 left to cut the HSU lead to 62-53, but the Reddies scored the next four points.

The Bison return to action at 7:30 p.m., Thursday in the Noble Complex, opposite Arkansas Tech.
