Northwestern Overtakes Bison

Oklahoma Baptist got started quickly but couldn't keep up with the pace or overcome a barrage of first-half fouls in a 94-79 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State in the Noble Complex Thursday.

OBU shot 67 percent in the first half but Northwestern scored four points in the final 20 seconds of the half to take a 51-47 lead at intermission.

The Bison were whistled for 17 first-half fouls, putting key players on the bench and leading Northwestern to a 12-5 advantage in free throw scoring for the half.

Northwestern shot 56 percent for the game and for the third time this season, OBU sank 50 percent or more of its shots and didn't get the win. The Bison hit on 55 percent Thursday.

Steven Green led the Bison with 21 points and eight rebounds while Chandler Rickey added 17 points and seven rebounds. Vladimir Nemcok contributed 15 points and eight assists.

Adrian Motley led Northwestern with 24 points with T'aries Taylor adding 23.
