Pioneers Hold Off Lady Bison

DENTON, Texas - A rough third quarter – Oklahoma Baptist's new nemesis – cost the Lady Bison in a 66-60 loss at Texas Woman's Saturday.

OBU trailed by nine at halftime and by 20 after a 23-12 third period advantage went to the Pioneers.

Now 2-7 on the season, OBU has lost the third quarter in all but one of those contests and has been outscored in the third quarter by double figures three times this season. In the last two games, Tarleton State and Texas Woman's outscored OBU 50-23 in the first 10 minutes after halftime.

OBU hit four of its last five shots and finished the game on a 15-3 run for a six-point final.

McKenzie Cooper had 16 points and Cameerah Graves added 13, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Graves also led OBU with eight rebounds.

The game wraps up the 2015 portion of the season with the Lady Bison resuming play Jan. 4 at home against St. Gregory's in a 6 p.m. tipoff.
