OBU Advances to Region Title Match

BARTLESVILLE – Oklahoma Baptist overcame a first-set loss and posted a 3-1 win Friday night over host Oklahoma Wesleyan to reach the finals of the NCCAA Central Region Tournament.

Nicole Fleitman was an unstoppable force for OBU, getting 14 kills with a .481 attack percentage and sending back eight OWU shots for OBU points.


OBU won the match 21-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15 and will face Colorado Christian at noon Saturday for the region title and automatic berth to the national tournament.

Priscila Mendes had 12 kills and Kynnedy Myers added 41 assists. Cat Roth contributed four aces.

Defensively, Fleitman led with eight blocks while Myers and Roth added five apiece. Kaitlyn Lucy had 35 digs to lead that effort, followed by Taylor Bunger with 13, Kate Decker with 12 and Myers with 10.


The Lady Bison improved to 23-11 with the win.

Colorado Christian advanced with a 3-0 win over McMurry.
