Oklahoma Baptist swept Northwestern Oklahoma State in three sets (25-9, 25-18, 26-24) in a Great American Conference match Saturday afternoon at the Noble Complex.

The Lady Bison trailed for just five total points in the first two sets, cruising to a 25-9 win in the first set and taking the second set 25-18.

After falling behind as much as eight points in the third, OBU rallied a late comeback for the win and the match, improving to 16-11 overall and 11-2 in the GAC.

The Rangers extended the lead to eight at 17-9 in the final set, but the Lady Bison scored five of the next six points to cut the deficit to four.

OBU evened up the match at 24-24 for the first tie with Northwestern since 1-1.

Freshmen
Nicole Fleitman and
Kynnedy Myers got the final two kills, capping off a string of five straight Lady Bison points to seal the match and secure the three-set victory.

"Things didn't go our way the entire time in the third set, but [the Lady Bison] had a mindset they were going to win set three," said OBU head coach
Anna Howle.

"Even through the errors we were making, it started being aggressive errors, and I think I knew at that point that we were going to come back and win this third game or make it pretty close. It was good, it was exciting."

Cat Roth paced OBU with 10 kills, while
Priscila Mendes added nine kills and Fleitman finished with eight kills and 2.5 blocks.

Kaitlyn Lucy had 20 digs and Myers finished with 35 assists.
