ADA – Oklahoma Baptist lost the first set then put down East Central's rebellion for a 3-1 Great American Conference volleyball win Thursday.
OBU won the match 18-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-7.
After the first set loss, the Lady Bison used an 8-1 run in the second set to build a 13-6 lead and compounded that with a 4-0 run to run away with the match-tying set.
OBU broke open a 19-18 third set with a 5-1 run.
The fourth set was all OBU with the Lady Bison going on an 18-0 run to blow open a 6-6 tie. Cat Roth had four kills and Shekinah Sharpe added three in one of the biggest runs in OBU volleyball history.
Sharpe, Roth, Priscila Mendes and Carey Strong had eight kills each in the match. Strong added four aces and 14 digs. Sharp had 19 digs and Roth, Mendes and Nicole Fleitman had three blocks.
Kynnedy Myers led the team with 30 assist and four blocks. Kaitlyn Lucy had a team-best 27 digs.
Now 15-11 on the season and 10-2 in the GAC, the Lady Bison host Northwestern Oklahoma State Saturday at 2 p.m.
