Oklahoma Baptist had impressive rallies to claim a 3-1 win at Arkansas-Monticello Saturday to set up a showdown next week for the lead in the Great American Conference.
With sets tied at 1-1, OBU trailed 21-13 in the third set. Carey Strong and Cat Roth each had a block and a kill to pull the Bison to within 22-16 before Kate Decker came up with two kills and an ace to close the gap to 24-21.
Priscila Mendes then delivered three consecutive kills to tie the score and then got the game-winning kill for the third set.
Down 24-23 in the fourth set, Cat Roth got a block and an ace to give OBU a 25-24 lead and after UAM tied the score, Decker and Nicole Fleitman delivered kills for the win.
Mendes led OBU with 20 kills with Decker adding 16 with Kynnedy Myers collecting 45 assists. Roth had six blocks and Kaitlyn Lucy tacked on 23 digs.
Now 13-10 on the season and 8-1 in the GAC, hosts Arkansas Tech (15-5, 9-0) Thursday at 7 p.m.
