Oklahoma Baptist picked up an important road win Friday, rallying for a 3-2 win at Southern Arkansas.
OBU won 19-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 15-12.
After losing the first set, OBU trailed 13-6 in the second set before getting three kills and a block from Denise Coroiescu in a 7-0 rally to make it 13-11.
OBU took its first lead, 17-16, with a block from Kate Decker and Cat Roth.
The Muleriders were not ready to fade away though, and took a 23-22 lead. Nicole sparked a 3-0 run with one of her nine blocks on the night and Decker ended the match with a kill for a 25-23 win.
SAU took the third game 25-18, but OBU returned the favor with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.
The Muleriders took an early 3-1 lead in the final set and led 6-5, but Priscila Mendes and Fleitman got kills while Decker and Roth got a block in a 4-0 OBU run for a 9-6 lead. The Lady Bison took a 14-10 lead, but SAU got within two before Roth ended things with a kill.
Coroiescu led the Lady Bison with 16 kills while Roth added 12. Kynnedy Myers added 39 assists.
Kaitlyn Lucy entrenched herself as the Great American Conference digs leader with 40 in the match. Coroiescu and Myers had 13 digs apiece in their double-doubles and Decker came up with 11.
Now 12-10 overall and 7-1 in the GAC, the Lady Bison complete their Arkansas trip Saturday with a visit to Arkansas-Monticello at noon.
