SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist Women's Lacrosse will look to make it two wins in as many tries when they welcome the University of Saint Mary (Kan.) to the OBU Lacrosse Complex on Friday, Feb. 24 for a 6 p.m. tilt. The Lady Bison are attempting to win back-to-back home games for the first time since the 2015 season.

Oklahoma Baptist (1-2) saw their offense explode last Saturday for a 13-4 victory over Missouri Valley College. Now averaging 9.7 goals per game, OBU is led offensively by
Alexis Martin,
Lauren McCormack and
Breanna Wichert at six goals each, while Martin has a team-high nine points off six goals and three assists. Four other Lady Bison have at least two goals, including
Sarah Anderson,
Hannah Dowell,
Allison Ingrim and
Savannah Tompkins.

Defensively, the Lady Bison are scooping up an average of 16.7 ground balls per game. Dowell leads the team with 12 GB after picking up a game-high eight against Missouri Valley, while Ingrim and
Haley Ballard have combined for 13 through three games.
Paige Morrison and Ingrim are co-leaders in caused turnovers with five to their credit, and
Jamie Jefferson has four.
Courtney Barnickle ranks in the Top 20 in Division II in several categories, including save percentage (.426), total saves (23) and saves per game (7.7), and also picked up her first career win last Saturday night.

Saint Mary (0-0) is the fourth straight opponent to open their 2017 schedule against the Lady Bison. The Spires went 2-10 in 2016, and were picked for a sixth-place finish in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference this term. Averaging just 4.8 GPG last season, USM returns their three leading offensive threats in Karissa Proctor, Hannah Byrd and Julia Harvey. Kayla DeBlois, who gave up an average of 12.2 GPG last season, returns in the cage for the Spires.

Oklahoma Baptist and Saint Mary have met on the field one time with OBU holding a 1-0 advantage in the series after dispatching the Spires, 15-2, last season in the squad's home opener.
