Carey Strong joined the Oklahoma Baptist volleyball coaching staff in summer of 2016 after a concluding a four-year career competing for the Lady Bison following the 2015 season.
The right-side hitter and setter was instrumental in OBU's run to the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship, earning All-Tournament Team honors. In her senior season, Strong appeared in 39 matches, starting 35, and held a .222 hitting percentage (4th best on the team) while ranking third on the team in kills and second in assists. At the end of the 2015-16 academic eyar, she was awarded the Jonathan Award of Encouragement while also achieving President's Honor Roll recognition.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Strong gained valuable experience serving as a coach at OBU volleyball camps, as well as providing individual instruction to youth players.
Strong, a native of Wylie, Texas, graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. She resides in Shawnee, where she is an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
