Kyler Hensley joined the Bison coaching staff in August of 2023. 

Hensley comes to Shawnee a season removed from coaching varsity basketball at Farmington High School in Arkansas. There, he helped the Tigers to a 36-1 record and an appearance in the State Semifinals.

Prior to stepping into the coaching realm, Hensley attended and graduated from GAC affiliate Harding University from 2019-2022. He played two seasons under head coach Jeff Morgan, earning Academic All-Conference twice. He saw action eight games and scored five points, brought down six rebounds, and dished out two assists in his career. 

Hensley was a 2019 graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Arkansas where he earned All-Conference honors as a senior. In concluded his final season average 14 points per game and 11 rebounds per contest.
